Bad Soul
Uncanny Ink Series Book 1
by David Bussell & M.V. Stott
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Promises, rules, bones; Erin Banks will break them all.
Unscrupulous and lethal, Erin has everything she needs to be an assassin in a world full of mobsters, monsters, and magic.
She wasn’t born with powers, but thanks to her Uncanny Ink—arcane tattoos that transform her body into a magic-fueled killing machine—she’s more than a match for anyone dumb enough to stand between her and getting paid.
Fresh out of prison, Erin wastes no time getting back to what she does best: running down wanted men and claiming their bounties.
But when a powerful demon lurking in a black cathedral hires her to round up an errant soul, the creature offers a reward far more valuable than money…
He offers Erin the key to unlocking her tragic past. The key to the mystery surrounding her long-lost brother.
Magic, scares, and acid-tongued snark collide in this thrilling urban fantasy series set in the Uncanny Kingdom. Buried secrets and whiplash twists will keep you riding the edge of your seat. Read Bad Soul now for a pulse-pounding tale you won’t be able to put down.

Book 1 has a fantastic cover. Love the coloring
ReplyDeleteThank you, Katie. Very kind of you to say.
DeleteThe cover is vivid and bad ass! I love a strong female book character. I think it's awesome that her tattoos are her magic. Sounds like a great read!
ReplyDeleteErin's no role model, but she's certainly strong!
DeleteLove the cover and urban fantasy! Love twists and turns in a book which sparks my imagination!
ReplyDeleteI really love when a book series has matching covers like these. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda! Easy on the eye, aren't they?
DeleteTerrific cover
ReplyDeleteLove this cover so awesome
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know where David draws his inspiration from.
ReplyDeleteHi Tammy. Thanks for your question. I tend to find inspiration in unlikely places. For me, it's rare for an idea to spark when I'm reading another book in my genre. Far more often, the ideas come from non-fiction: podcasts, science magazines, historical journals, that sort of thing. Other than those, I find distraction very helpful. Many of my best ideas come while I'm washing the dishes!
DeleteI look forward to reading this.
ReplyDeleteThe cover nicely suits the fantasy theme.
ReplyDeleteNo questions - the cover is pretty cool
ReplyDeletethis cover is intriguing
ReplyDeleteThe cover is nice overall, the font isn't my fav, but the colors are great.
ReplyDeleteWe know what you mean, Jennifer. We took a gamble when we opted for a traditional tattoo font rather than a typical Urban Fantasy style one, but we like the way it makes the book stand out from the crowd a bit.
DeleteThe cover makes the subject seem powerful to me in a very dark way...maybe a little demonic.
ReplyDeleteHi Bosco. Erin may well have a touch of the demon about her. Certainly, those who cross her would find it hard to disagree with you.
DeleteThe cover is captivating! Sounds like a must read!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Veronica!
ReplyDeleteI like all shades of blue so I like the cover for its color choice. I have no questions for the author.
ReplyDeleteGreat cover, really like the blue
ReplyDeleteI like this cover & I like how each book has it's own pop of color.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting. Looks good.
ReplyDeleteI like that the different books in the series have different (bright) colors - it helps to keep straight what you've read or haven't.
