MP Magic Socks Review

I've posted many reviews and giveaways for socks in the past. In fact, my very first giveaway here was for socks. Recently, I had the chance to try out some socks with a bit of a twist. Not only are they comfortable, but they're odorless or at least help make your feet odorless.
The magic of the MP Magic socks comes from the fabric which is silver, copper, and zinc-infused, integrated with mineral substance and antibacterial fabrics. Together, this helps make the socks breathable, helping to reduce if not eliminate foot odor.

Unless you take pleasure from olfactophilia or have a foot fetish, you probably don't enjoy the body odor from smelly feet. While some polyester socks might wick away perspiration, synthetic materials (polyester and nylon) don't provide sufficient ventilation like a good cotton or wool sock does to reduce the odor. Cotton socks tend to cost more though, yet don't last as long.

Without getting too deeply into a debate over cotton versus polyester socks, what you really want in a sock is comfort. Of course, you don't want smelly feet either, but if the socks aren't comfortable to start with, any extra benefit you get from them won't matter. Here, the MP Magic socks prove to be really comfortable. They have a specially designed heal and toe area to help here, which also serves to help with the reduction of foot odor as those areas serve as the origin of the odor typically.
I have really wide feet. While my size 10 shoes are about average for a man, their width of EEEEEE (yes, SIX Es) is not normal. The MP Magic socks come in two sizes, S/M and L/XL. They also come in two styles, crew and ankle, and three colors, gray, black, and blue. I was sent the L/XL black (w/ silver toes and heals) to try. Lengthwise, they're a good fit for my feet where the heal sits exactly where it is supposed to. The extra width doesn't cause any problems here, as it sometimes has with other socks.

Overall, I like the socks. I typically consciously look for cotton socks, whether dress socks or otherwise. They're not as durable as the polyester ones, but I've always tended to get cotton. Perhaps because of this, I've never noticed myself as having much of any foot odor problem. Working with computers, one tends to work in air conditioning all day which probably helps reduce the chance for odor to develop. If, however, you work outside all summer, you probably need socks like these if you have an odor issue. And, if not for you, you probably have some friends who you know that could benefit from these instead.
I did get to try some of the ankle height socks, too. These seemed to run a little small, or at least were more affected by my wide feet. Otherwise, their material was just as comfortable as the crew height ones. Get the style that is right for you. You're typically not going to switch to the other style if you've worn one style since the dawn of time.
The cost of the socks are competitive. The crew socks run $48 for 6 pair, or $8 each. The ankle socks are $7 each. It does seem you must purchase six packs of socks, with no listings for other quantities where I checked. Not sure of your sock size, be sure to check out the size chart on their web site.

If you suffer from smelly feet, do consider getting these as an option to help. Your spouse / partner, and kids will love you for it.

  2. Thank you for sharing. My husband has small feet and they are also wide. He would like these socks.
