You may even be close to a pay phone in case your cell phone gets no signal there. However, if you are going to truly rough it, then you need to know what the terrain will be like. If you are going to be near water, then you should bring some waterproof gear, particularly waterproof fire-starting tools. If you will be camping up in the mountains, then you need to bring along some high-altitude gear.

You never know what you will encounter when you go out camping. You may be counting on your hunting skills to supply your food or a nearby water source to provide fresh drink water, but you should be prepared for things to go south. Bring extra food and water, as well as extra fire-starting materials and other supplies that could be damaged or lost. It’s a good idea to have an extra pair of shoes or socks and some extra clothes in case yours get wet.

Test Your Gear
How many times have people gone out into the wild to camp and set up their tent and campsite only to realize that they were missing vital components? Or their gear broke down on them a day or two into their excursion, leaving them without the tools they needed and in a tough place. You should spend time checking each of your tools you are bringing with you. Examine matches to make sure they are still working and check that flashlight batteries are fresh. This extra work can save you a lot of trouble later on.

You may feel too tired to do any housework, but you still want to live in a habitable environment. It’s easy to feel stressed and depressed after the high of the camping trip, simply because your house is in disarray and you have no energy to clean it, but hiring a cleaning service can take care of that problem for you.
