Instagram Introduces Two-Factor Authentication

A little late to the game, Instagram has finally introduced two-factor authentication to their app. Now, when they need to confirm that is you, typically when you log in from a new device, you'll get a text message in addition to needing your login password. The code is typically sent via text message. If you're in an area where text messages aren't available, you can save a set of backup codes that Instagram provides. Of course, you'll need to protect those codes to prevent others from using them instead of you.

You can read a little more about this in Instagram's latest blog posting: Fostering a Safer, Kinder Community. which also talks about an image blurring feature they introduced. You'll find this feature under the Options menu within the mobile app. Whenever I discover this feature is available within an app, I definitely enable it.
