I am from an entire family of military, but the most important military man in my life is my dad who is a retired US Marine! He is the biggest influence in my life and instilled in me a huge respect for this country and all those who serve!
ReplyDeleteMy Poppop was in the military. From what I've been told, I'm the only person he's spoken in depth with about his time in the service.
ReplyDeleteMy dad was in WW11 on the front lines in Japan. He saved his CO by pulling him in a trench when he got shot. Got a medal for that. What he and everyone else went through was horrific. He couldn't talk about it for a long long time. I have such respect for our service men and women.

My husband's grandfather was. We have the flag displayed on our mantle!

ReplyDeleteGenerations of my family have served in the military in every conflict since the revolutionary war. One of my sons is a Marine and is continuing this tradition.
