Moth Book Tour & Giveaway

Moth Book Tour & Giveaway. Ends 9/15.

Social worker Max Hollingsworth is no stranger to monsters. Supernatural or human, he's faced all kinds. But when he's called upon to investigate a missing child, he may have met his match.

Children are vanishing, not just from the streets, but from their parents' memories. Max's investigation leads him to a gang of neo-Nazi vampires running a child slavery ring. There, he comes face to face with the deadliest enemy he's ever met, their charismatic and powerful leader Boone.

Running low on hope and options to find the missing children, Max turns to his friends for help. But even they aren't enough. Forced to face the darkness of his own past, Max forges an alliance with the least likely ally of all. An enemy whose cruelty was almost his end, and haunts him still.

Rated 18+ for language, violence and sexual content.

Sean P Author pic
Though born in Mesa, Arizona, Sean has spent most of his life in Missouri. After college, Sean went into social and investigative work, primarily with disabled adults and seniors. Sean’s background in sociology, criminology, and philosophy and his experience as an investigator for the State of Missouri, are heavy influences in his writing.

While Sean has been writing most of his life, he did not consider doing so professionally until he was inspired by a terrible vampire movie. During the film, Sean amused himself by imagining the vampires being attacked by a dragon. His imagination resulted in his series, The Dragon’s Blood Chronicles, featuring dragons and vampires.

Sean enjoys watching and reading science fiction, fantasy, horror, and thrillers. His hobbies include playing Xbox, fantasy role playing games and collecting firearms.

Moth is Book 1 of The Max Hollingsworth Paranormal Mysteries. Sean's other books include The Shadow of Tiamet and The Will of the Darkest One, both from The Dragon’s Blood Chronicles.

The Interview

What is your name? Is there a nickname?

Maxwell Taylor Hollingsworth. I'm named after a famous general because my dad is a former military guy. He did that with both of his sons: my brother is named George Patton Hollingsworth. Get it? Anyway, everyone calls me Max so you can, too. I don't like being called Sir or Mr. Hollingsworth. Um...I do have a nickname but I don't care for it. Some of my friends, and a few of my enemies, call me Razor. I don't really like to talk about why so let's move on.

What do you do for a living?

I'm a social worker for the Division of Family Services for the State of Missouri. In other words, I'm the social worker that comes and takes your kids if you've been beating or starving them. Yeah, I'm real popular, but it's an important job. It would be great if that were all I had to deal with, but I have a habit of attracting supernatural "happenings" that make my job even harder. Sometimes I think I'm marked or something.

Where do you live?

I live in Joplin, Missouri. There is little to like about it. I know, you're wondering if I dislike it so much, why don't I move? I don't really know. Even though I hate it, this feels like the place I'm supposed to be. Maybe this city needs me. Maybe I need it? I don't really like to think about it too much.

How did you meet your girlfriend?

I met her on a case. She called in a hotline on her sister because...well, she probably wouldn't want me telling you that story.

Do you believe in ghosts?

Yeah. I've even seen a few. Though, the ghosts I've seen aren't like Casper or Patrick Swayze. Most spirits that get stuck here are angry and vengeful. And they are harder than hell to take out. At least with vampires you can shoot them. It may not kill them but it hurts like hell. Ghosts require a whole ritual to get rid of and I'm not good with those.

Who are your heroes?

My father was my hero for most of my life. I grew up and learned some things about him, things he did while he was in the Air Force, that dampened that a bit, but as I've gotten older I've matured enough to understand why he did the things he did. I think my admiration for him is stronger now for it. I even wanted to join the military while I was growing up because of him, but he expressly forbid it. He said he didn't want his sons to go into any profession where they got shot at or had to risk their lives. HA! I showed him!

Have you every been hypnotized?

No and I won't ever let myself be. That way lies madness.

In a battle of zombies vs. vampires, which side would win?

Oh that's easy, vampires. Vampires are intelligent...well, more intelligent than zombies, anyway...and they have a variety of powers. The only power a zombie has is not being completely dead. I suppose if you had enough zombies and they overpowered a single unarmed vampire then the zombies would win, but that's about the only way.

What do you think of Sean?

I don't know who that is, some lowlife? Sounds like a lowlife.

Where are you headed next?

I have a hotline to go to. Something about a kid screaming from inside the house and the owners won't let the neighbors investigate. I'm hoping this is just a normal case, but I'm afraid I'm due for another dose of weird.
