Google Location History Tracking

Do you know where you were on September 18th at 5:14 PM? If you just asked me that question out of the blue, I wouldn't have a clue. However, with the help of Google, I now know. That happened to be the day I traveled down to Maryland to be at University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP).

If you allow Google to track your location data on your Android phone / tablet, this is the result of that tracking.
Here is a broad map of my travels that day. I started (and ended) in Boston with a flight between BOS and BWI and back in between. If you notice, there are no dots for when I was in the air. Phones are turned off during that time.

Here's a look at my travels while in Maryland going between the airport (BWI) and UMCP. I have to say a pretty accurate representation of my day.

Remember this is opt-in, so if you don't like the data being there, turn it off from your device. Under Settings, look for Location Services, and make sure Google location services is not checked off. At least that is what I think the setting is.

Have fun remembering where you were. Perhaps even relive that vacation...
