I think the most important part is keeping tv and other distracting things out of the bedroom. And to have a routine that your body can get used to

ReplyDeleteI try not to be too stressed out about things I cannot control. I keep a low light on (I like to read in bed) and soft music to relax me. nothing more distracting like a TV. I'd never get sleep!

ReplyDeletetaking a shower before bed makes me relaxed and when i get in bed its cozy so i go straight to sleep.
ReplyDeleteFor me, not having a TV or radio in the bedroom and using light-blocking blinds and curtains really helps to get me in the groove of relaxing and falling right asleep when my head hits the pillows.

ReplyDeleteCreating a very nice environment. Lavendar scented candle, dark room, comfortable temp. I have to feel comfortable and relaxed for a good night sleep which makes my day wonderful.

ReplyDeleteMy routine for a good night's sleep includes yogic breathing exercise and light meditation. It relaxes me and clears my mind.

ReplyDeleteA SOFT SOFT Mattress is the trick for me. Good gosh almighty but there are not many really actually SOFT mattresses out there. I have become the FOAM queen. soft soft sink into..... that did it. Oh that plus MY OWN ROOM away from snorers, kickers, and people who insist on having the bloody TV on til past midnight!!!
ReplyDeleteI think trying to get to bed at the same time every night and have a foam gel pillow helps my sleep.
ReplyDeletewearing my sleep mask or Night Night Mask as my kids call it. Also, taking a tylenol PM is helpful.

ReplyDeleteAs contradictory as it sounds, not be too tired (over-tired really) when I head to bed helps. If I am too tired, I get a serious case of RLS.

ReplyDeleteI have a routine like fluff pillows, make sure blankets & sheets are in their place, and that I have my fan on. Without those, I don't sleep well. Weird, I know!

ReplyDeleteFor me the bedroom has to be dark and quite. I like it kind of cool. Since I don't have heat that's not exactly a problem now. I need the right amount of covers and most of all I need a good comfy pillow.

ReplyDeletePersonally, having my chihuahua Little Bit curled up beside me is when I can rest easy. When I'm away from home I can't sleep at all. It just feels wrong when she isn't beside me. I also have to keep a fan going both for the white noise and because I can't sleep if the air isn't moving.

ReplyDeletePersonally I have formed an odd habit of using my phone to put me to sleep. I fall asleep every night while on the Internet lol. Over the weekend I was visiting family and didn't have cell service so I started playing Tetris and fell right asleep. It's just like me to be opposite of everyone else including my sleep habits lol.
