    For children "Most mattresses are made from petrochemicals, synthetic materials and chemical additives. Our kids spend nearly half their ealy lives in bed surrounded by these materials

    I learned that crib mattresses are made from organic cotton, which are healthier alternatives to foams and latex.

    Never heard of this before. Kapok fiber is harvested from the fluffy fiber surrounding the seeds of the tropical kapok tree (ceiba pentandra). Also known as "silk cotton," kapok is the lightest natural fiber in the world, with a density nearly five times as light as cotton.
