The folks over at California Wine Club have had blogger giveaways in the past. I never entered because of the crazy wine shipment laws in the state of Massachusetts. This time around, I decided to look into things a little more and discovered that they've taken care of the legalities of shipping wine into the state of Massachusetts. Every state has their own laws with regards to shipping wine into the state so please check for yourself, but at least for Massachusetts residents, you can win this prize and actually use it for yourself. According to The Sotheby's Wine Encyclopedia, if California were a country, it would be the fourth largest wine producer, with France, Italy, and Spain being the top three. According to the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau: Statistical Report of 2009, that equates to 634 million gallons of production. Little ol' Massachusetts is somewhere at the bottom with a measly 162,311 gallons.
