A Taste of Iceland in Boston

From March 8th - 12th, the people of Boston get to experience the fourth annual Icelandic invasion with Iceland's finest cuisine, music, and culture.

First off, Legal Sea Food will have an Icelandic Menu from March 8th - 12th. Three or Four course meals featuring a custom Reyka Vodka cocktail, the Reyka Sour. Available at Copley Plaza, Prudential Center, Park Square, and Legal Harborside. Marinated Icelandic Salmon, Pan-fried Icelandic Cod, Roasted Shoulder of Icelandic Lamb (Harborside only), and Skyr Tiramisu Style.

Fabulous Iceland: From Sagas to Novels is a art exhibit at the Revere Hotel running from March 8th - 31st. Offering individual short stories, coupled with portraits. Opening night cocktail reception from 6-8 pm has free admission with an RSVP.

Saturday March 9th has a free concert - Reykjavik Calling at the Paradise Rock Club on Comm Ave. 18+. Doors open at 8 pm. Boston-area musicians are coupled with Icelandic ones. Concert is free.

Sunday March 10th is the free Icelandic Film Festival offering screenings of three Icelandic hit films at Theatre 1 at the Revere Hotel.(200 Stuart St, Boston, MA, 617.482.1800). Admission is free.

Can't get enough of Iceland? Win a trip to Iceland Airwaves in Reykjavik on Icelandair. Show is Oct 30-Nov 3. Or, win the TrailRunner Iceland Dream Trip Contest. That winner will receive free entry for two in the 17th annual Laugavegur Ultra Marathon on July 13, 2013.

Not in Boston this weekend? Washington DC folks had a free show at the Kennedy Center February 24th, Austin Texas gets a sampling at SXSW March 14th, while Toronto fans can enjoy something similar at Canadian Music Week, March 19th-24th.

Never been to Iceland myself, yet. I kept toying with stopping over in Reykjavik on the way to London, but the London trips have stopped for some time now. Maybe someday. When I make it, I'll be sure to see how many of the 100 Best Things to Do in Iceland I can do.
