Pink Taco Restaurant Opens in Boston / Review

So, Friday was National Taco Day and the restaurant Pink Taco threw a VIP party to celebrate the opening of their new Boston location, which is open to the public today, October 7th. I went to the party as a social influencer to see what the place was all about and to try out their food. Working back in Boston does have some benefits as I probably would not have gone had I worked outside the city.
Existing locations for Pink Taco are on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California, in River North Chicago, Illinois, and in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, with Boston being the fourth location, at 374 Congress Street. The name comes from their signature menu item, a Pink Taco, which is Achiote chicken with habanero pickled red onions. The habanero pickled red onions add a nice bite to the dish.

Tacos are definitely a specialty, and you can also get Taco Bowls, Enchiladas, Fajitas, and Burritos. There's also Pink Taco’s distinctive, handcrafted cocktail menu – featuring classic margaritas and shake-up’s like the “Something Pink”; Partida Blanco with fresh prickly pear purée, served in a Pink Taco glass that you can take home! With the tacos, you get a trio, as they're small and good for sharing, where everyone can order something different. The carne asada was a good one with its marinated steak, avocado, and cotija cheese, but I liked the carnitas (pork butt) and fried lobster ones better. There are a couple of vegetarian options, too. One of those has zucchini and bell peppers, while the other is sweet potato based. [Boston Menu]
A popular stop at the bar/restaurant was the Patron exercise bike that was hooked up to a blender for making frozen margaritas. You wanted to make sure you didn't pedal too fast or else it just bubbled up. That won't be a regular feature of the place, just there for the special event.
Guests included New England Patriots Defensive Lineman Keionta Davis and social media influencers Lindsey Pelas (9.1M followers), Khloë Terae (2.3M followers), Jessica Killings (1.9M followers), Ashley Alexiss (1.8M followers) and Laura Lux (1.6M followers). I think all the girls were flown in from out of town, while Davis is currently on injured reserve and not playing. With just over 8,000 followers on Instagram myself, I definitely haven't been flown out for any parties like this one...
Overall, it was a fun night with some great food. I'll definitely be recommending the place to the people around the office when looking for something new and different. At the far end of Congress Street, it is a little off the beaten path, though. And, we'll have to see if the restaurant name triggers any local problems, given what it's slang for.
