Kingsford Premium Wood Pellets provide a low ash, extended burn for fewer cleanups and richer flavor. Unlike most brands that supplement with inexpensive woods like Oak and Alder, Kingsford Pellets are 100% pure - with the exact composition of every bag printed clearly on the label. Their Cherry, Apple, Oak, and Hickory flavors are 100% pure, unlike other leading brands that use less than 50% actual flavor wood in their bag. Their Competition Blend is 45% oak, 45% hickory and 10% cherry. Zero ambiguity means grillers can experiment, taste test, and re-create recipes with confidence.
If you follow pellet grilling, you may have heard from others in the industry that filler woods are necessary to create more heat, but they'd like to set the record straight on that account. Recent independent lab tests confirm that Kingsford pellets produce the same, if not more, BTU / lb. than competing products. The tests also confirm that their pellets produce less sawdust in the bag, which means more usable pellets and therefore a better value overall. More flavor, more heat, more pellets, more value...you can’t lose.
Pellet grilling can be a hands-off approach, allowing grillers to set a temperature and cooking timer without constant supervision – a nice bonus for those who grill in cold temperatures. Going beyond BBQ, pellet grills can be used as an oven to cook pizzas, whole turkeys, and even cakes and cookies. A specialized pellet grill is not necessary for pellet grilling. Kingsford pellets can also be placed into an aerated tinfoil pack and rested on charcoals to create a richer, smokehouse flavor.
They're super easy to cook with over charcoal:
They're super easy to cook with over charcoal:
- Light and spread charcoal as you would normally.
- Place a handful of Kingsford Premium Wood Pellets into a tinfoil pack, poke several holes, and place on top of hot coals.
- Replace grilling grate and start cooking.
You don't need a charcoal grill to smoke your meats/food. You just need to get a pellet tube if you're cooking with propane. Check out a review of its usage at Meat Smoking for Beginners.
