Here's a bit of a different competition. Being an author myself, I found it interesting... If you've ever thought about writing a non-fiction book in the science and technology field... MIT Press is holding their first-ever Pitchfest competition at the next Boston Book Festival in October 2018. Six finalists will be selected to present their projects before a panel of judges. The winner will be given the opportunity to work with an MIT Press editor to develop a full-fledged proposal, plus a $1000 cash prize.
Key Dates:
9/1/2018: Proposal Submission Deadline
9/17/2018: Finalists Notified
10/13/2018: Pitchfest Competition
Put your proposals together now. You only need a 300 proposal. More importantly though, you need a two-minute video, too.
