Things You Should Do When You Are In Phuket

If you are planning to travel to Thailand on a holiday, make sure you have Phuket on your list. Phuket is the largest island of the country and offers an unparalleled blend of a modern party town and a serene, exotic holiday destination. You will find everything in Phuket from the very touristy Patong beach to the more secluded and white and sandy Freedom beach, from the vibrant and lively Bangla street to the lush green rainforests.

It is highly recommended that you make your stay longer in Phuket and split your trip into two phases. Dedicate one phase to experience and explore the Phuket town. You will love the shopping experience and the scrumptious food as you will walk through the vibrant and lively Bangla Street or if you want to shop high end then head to the Jungceylon mall. The cultural shows such as the famous Phuket FantaSea and water fun at the Splash water park are not to be missed.

The second phase of your stay in Phuket should include excursions to a variety of attractions that surround the island. Most of these tours will take a full day, which means a longer stay will be required if you want to fully explore the thick jungles, exotic islands and other sights that border this beautiful island town. It is highly recommended that you book your favorite Phuket day tours online in advance since it is easy for foreign tourists to get ripped off by a local operator. Here are a few things that you should not miss on your holiday in Phuket.

Island Tours
Although Phuket is more likely to be your main station, if you want to experience the real exotic white sandy beaches, coral reefs, limestone formations and clear waters, you should hop across the many beautiful islands that border Phuket. You can choose to explore an island or two in depth and spend more time there or hop from one island to another exploring as many as you possibly can depending on your time and budget. Each of these islands has their own unique characteristics, and therefore, despite beaches being the dominating physiographical feature, you will feel the difference on each of the islands.

Sightseeing Tours
Phuket is full of sights and attraction to explore for everyone and every age. From the beautiful Buddhist temples to the beautiful national parks and coral lakes, you can book a variety of tours depending on your budget and time. Tours such as two days Khao Sok national park may require up to two days and are on the pricier side, but they are not to be missed if you are not constrained by time and budget.

Phuket is certainly not all about snorkeling and strolling on the beach. Phuket has a lot to offer for those who are into adventure tourism. There are a number of tour packages that offer activities such as ziplining, adventurous trekking trails through the jungles, and wakeboarding. The tours start as low as 650 baht (about $20) so there is something to suit every budget.
