Do you have a family game night with your family? We don't do it as regularly as I'd like to given everyone's busy schedules, but we still enjoy the occasional gaming night. We recently tried out a new sculpting game called Sculptapalooza. Read on to learn about the game and for a chance to win. Then be sure to scroll down below the giveaway entry form to check out the other hops on the 3rd Annual Rain Rain Go Away Blog Hop.
As the name might imply, Sculptapalooza is a sculpting game. Instead of using clay like Cranium did when it came out in the 1990s, Sculptapalooza uses the popular Playfoam balls to test out your sculpting abilities. The game is meant to be played in groups of four or more and is rated for 10+. You can play with just two, but it isn't really competitive play then, just alternating back and forth trying to guess what the other person is sculpting.
Game play involves a series of cards with five different categories: Straight Up Sculpt, Put It On Your Face, Just Close Your Eyes, Playfoam Props, and Sculptor's Choice. The idea is to get your teammate(s) to guess what you're sculpting. The categories are fairly self explanatory with perhaps the exception being the props one. For that, you have to use the created prop to act out a scene. There is even a lightning round with its own set of cards.
The game is rated for 10+ which seems about right. My eleven year old had no problem performing the tasks, he just didn't know all the items that needed to be sculpted. Much younger and while they might enjoy playing with the Playform, they don't need the game for that. Be care with the Playfoam if you have a kid younger than 3 or a dog. They will want to place the little balls in their mouth, and they're a choking hazard.
Overall, a fun game that will be enjoyed by all. Made by Educational Insights, this game helps prove you don't need a screen to have fun. Available for just $19.99 at Amazon.
Now... here's your chance to win. The giveaway is open to US residents only who are 18+ and ends at 11:59pm EST on 4/24/18. Good luck. For more complete rules, see Giveaway Rules.
