Google Home Mini Giveaway and This & That Hop

I recently attended a press event for the Google Pixel 2 phone. As part of attending, we were given a Google Home Mini. So... here we have our prize as part of the This & That Hop. The blog hop has an open theme but... each blogger participating must have a prize valued at $50 or more. Since the Mini is valued at just $49, I'm also including a half dozen Google/Android related pins I got at the event. Combined, the value of those easily tops the prize minimum.

If you're not familiar with the Pixel 2, it is the latest "Google phone," a flagship Android phone from Google itself, versus another vendor who would typically add in their own mix of goodies to the available apps. You can read full reviews of the phone at places like The Verge or watch reviews on YouTube.
I got to play with the phone a little at the event at the Boston Verizon store, their official partner. The features I liked most about it were the camera with its portrait mode to blur out the background and keep the focus on the central subject. You do have to move the camera while taking the picture. Google Lens is another feature of the camera I liked. You point it at an item and it will identify the item and show you details on it. Like point it at the Pixel itself and you'll see a product info page. No headphone jack seems to be the new normal. The phone is waterproof so those accidental drops won't kill the phone. Lastly, I liked the squeezeable sides. You do have to get used to it as you might accidentally depress them when you didn't mean to, but a nice addition to how to interact with apps. Do check out the Pixel 2 and all the available accessories at Amazon.
As far as the giveaway goes, the Google Home Mini is their newest voice assistant to Google Assistant. You'll also get six Google/Android related pins. The giveaway is open to residents of the continental US who are 18+ and ends at 11:59 pm on 11/30/17. For full rules, see Giveaway Rules.

The hop is hosted by The Kids Did It and The Mommy Island. Do be sure to visit others on the hop to see what else you can win. Good luck. Everything ends on 11/30.
