Marvel: Guardians of the Galaxy 1000 Dot-to-Dot Book Review and Giveaway

I recently received a copy of the Marvel: Guardians of the Galaxy 1000 Dot-to-Dot Book from the publisher, Thunder Bay Press, for the purposes of this review. Here are my thoughts on the title. After the review is a giveaway of the same title.

Did you enjoy doing Connect-the-Dot puzzles/games when you were growing up? This dot-to-dot book takes the basic Connect-the-Dot page and expands on the number of dots to connect for each

individual puzzle to make them more challenging. Imagine instead of having a couple hundred dots to connect, having over one thousand.

In this particular case, each puzzle is themed after the characters from the movie/series Guardians of the Galaxy. The pages are perforated so you can pull out a page and can work on it outside the book. Then you can color it in and frame it if you so desire. I wouldn't necessarily frame one I did myself, but perhaps one my child did I might.

The book measures 10"x14" where each page has one character. There are twenty puzzles with twenty-one characters, since one of the puzzles has two. Those two are on a double page, extra large one that is 19"x14" of Rocket and Groot. That one has over 1500 dots. The dots are numbered in both red and black text. With so many dots on each page, that brings me to my one and only complaint about the book that my wife, son, and myself all noticed. The numbers are printed really small. My ten-year old, who doesn't need reading glasses, even asked for a magnifying glass to help him find the different numbers.

Overall, graphic artist Thomas Pavitte does a great job reconstructing the characters in dots for you to connect. They truly do look like the characters once done. With so many dots, I would sure hope so. If you're confused when you are done, perhaps because you might have misplaced a dot or two, there is even an answer "guide" to show you how they're supposed to look. The book is truly hours worth of fun if you do them all yourself. These are not quick, especially if your eye-sight is aging. Plenty of fun though, especially if you color them afterwards, though that isn't required.

In addition to Guardians of the Galaxy, Pavitte has several other titles available of dot-to-dot puzzles. Several are other Marvel series/characters like Spiderman. His older titles include cityscapes and animals, among other things. A really nice collection of puzzle books if you like the first one. Just give your eyes a break between puzzles/titles.

And, now for the giveaway sponsored by Thunder Bay Press... You can win your own copy of the Marvel: Guardians of the Galaxy 1000 Dot-to-Dot Book by Thomas Pavitte. The giveaway is open to residents of the US and Canada who are 18+.
