Today is National Donut Day. You can get a free donut at most donut places. Some require a purchase, others don't. Is it doughnut or donut? When it is free, does it really matter?

• Krispy Kreme - free, any donut, no purchase required, not in Connecticut
• Dunkin' Donuts - free with drink purchase
• Honey Dew - free Mocha Madness with drink purchase
• Tim Horton - free with purchase, something about showing offer on their Facebook page
• Cumberland Farms - free with purchase, 5-10 am only

Supposedly, some area Jiffy Lube stores are doing free tire air pressure checks so you can avoid riding on your spare (donut) tire.
