My BioDefense UV Sanitizing Wand Review

I received this product for the purpose of this review. All opinions states are my own and may differ from yours.
Growing up, my maternal grandmother lived with us. She was a bit OCD with her behavior washing her hands. Before she washed her hands, she had to wash the fixtures in the bathroom. Otherwise, when she turned them off, they'd have her germs on them from when she turned them on. This product would have been perfect for her. However, thinking about it, she would have been upset about being able to sanitize the handle for the wand.

What we have here for review is a UV Sanitizing Wand from My BioDefense. Just wave the wand over the the surface to sanitize and it will destroy the germs from and deodorize hard surfaces for you. I'm using the term wave loosely here as it takes time to sanitize and deodorize. Enter your email and they'll email you a PDF with treatment times for common bacteria, mold, and virus. For instance, infectious hepatitis requires six seconds dosage for a 99.9% reduction/destruction.

The unit works off of three AAA batteries. You can also use the provided USB cable, but you have to keep it plugged in when using the USB cable. There are no internal batteries to charge/recharge.

Where might you use this? Grocery store carts, toilet handles, gas station pumps, your mobile phone, and your toothbrush. If you've never thought about it, lots of things float around in the bathroom after flushing and reach your toothbrush (Muthbusters: Fecal Matter on Toothbrush). Use this on your toothbrush periodically to clean things up.

Does it work? I didn't independently break out the petrie dish and see what grew before and after. If you believe the reports, it destroys 99% of germs and bacteria. If you're concerned about the effectiveness of the flu vaccine or just want that little bit of extra help to get things clean, this is portable enough to take with you when away from the home. Just back this instead of hand sanitizer, or in addition to. Helpful tool to have.
