I reviewed this cookbook back in December and now you have a chance to win two of your own from this publisher, Ulysses Press in the Ignite Your Senses giveaway. I've been using the cookbook and Frank's quite a bit more since then, most recently making some buffalo chicken salad. I think I'm on my fourth bottle since December.

This is my first cookbook from Ms. Rappaport. Apparently, she's very prolific in the cookbook arena. It is important to point out that these are not the official recipes from Frank's, but the author's alternatives to them. I'm a big fan of the heat from Frank's RedHot sauce and I'm never sure what to do with it besides just add some after the cooking for flavoring, or just for dipping. Now I have more alternatives. If only the rest of the family liked things so hot.

I've only cooked up one recipe so far, the buffalo wings, and not bad. I'm used to a little more details with some of the steps but apart from me overcooking things a little, everything turned out well. I mean, there's only two steps here. Was expecting a little more. I'd kinda like to see some alternatives a little for the recipes. Like with the wings I've heard of people using some butter in there, too, and not just the hot sauce, or perhaps not frying, or doubly frying. There is an atomic wings later in the book that I'll be sure to try.

It is great to see the versatility offered by Frank's. While some dishes are obvious to do with Frank's, like General Mattso's Shrimp or Shuffle Off to Buffalo Pie (a take on Shepherd's Pie), many others Rachel does I would have never considered, like Spiced Sweet Potato Pie with Gingersnap Pecan Crust or Bloody Mary Gelatin Shots. I look forward to trying many of them. I wish there were more pictures. For some reason, not all the recipes have pictures.
