Inateck Card Reader+HUB Review
I recently had the chance to try out a new cool gadget from inateck. It's a card reader / hub for your USB-OTG (on the go) compliant phone/tablet. The HUB part includes three USB 2.0 compliant ports, allowing you to connect a keyboard, mouse, and/or full-size thumb-drive, among many other devices. The card reader side includes an SD card / Micro SD slot and an M2 card / MS card slot.

Thankfully, my Galaxy S5 is USB-OTG compatible and everything worked fine after connecting the device to the micro-USB port on the phone. If I connect an external flash drive or HDD to the hub, I can transfer data to/from the USB storage, allowing quick access to family photos, movies, or other things which are on the thumb drive, or backup to the drive. No need to use Wi-Fi or the phone's data plan to transfer files. Or, just put your movies on the thumb drive and you'll have plenty to watch while you're offline on an airplane.

I actually found it great to connect a keyboard and mouse to my phone. My laptop was being repaired last week and I was stuck with just the phone one day. The mouse/keyboard setup allowed me easier data entry to keep up with my email and messaging for the day. It was weird using a mouse with the phone but it worked fine with no additional setup required.

Interesting device that I wasn't sure about when I first got. I'm starting to see more and more uses for it. It also allows quick transfer from a camera to the phone that I've yet to try. Overall, a great way to expand the storage options of the phone/tablet.
