Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Power of Forgiveness Review and Giveaway

I received this product for the purpose of this review. All opinions states are my own and may differ from yours.
Read the review and enter to win 1 of 3 copies of Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Power of Forgiveness. Giveaway ends 1/11
In case you can't tell from all the Chicken Soup for the Soul books highlighted here, I'm a Chicken Soup for the Soul blogger. They send me lots of books and I share my experiences with them, frequently giving away copies, too, like today where you can win one of three copies. At times, I feel each review is almost the same as the last, as the books have a common template. 101 stories about a common subject broken up across ten chapters with an intro by someone famous. Sometimes, the books hit closer to home with their theme, like a dog book. Other times, not so much, but I still enjoy reading the stories. Give me a cat book and I probably wouldn't even pick it up.

On the surface, this book isn't much different from the rest, where the theme is about forgiveness. And, therein lies the big difference in the book. I think we can all forgive somebody, even if it is just ourselves. There's a lot of power behind that forgiveness that you may or may not ever feel. Are you tired of staying angry with all the resentment? This book tells you about a bunch of people who had the power to let go, and how much better they felt after the burden was lifted.

Who has done you wrong? Do you want to forgive or be forgiven? Reading the book will help you understand what that means and how you'll adjust once the weight is lifted off our shoulder, if you ever decide to go that route.

As expected, there are ten chapters, depending upon who you want to forgive.
  1. Lessons on Forgiving Fathers
  2. Forgiveness between Mothers and Children
  3. Learning to Live with Family through Marriage
  4. Patching up Rifts with Siblings
  5. When Bad Things Happen in Love and Marriage
  6. Forgiving Friends and Colleagues
  7. Lessons from the People You Meet
  8. When a Crime Has Been Committed
  9. The Importance of Self Forgiveness
  10. A Poem that Says It All
  11. Bonus Stories about the Power of Forgiveness
In the end, I found this to be a very powerful book. Forgiveness seems to be that topic that hits closer to home than many of the other topics I've read about before. Perhaps the book will help you let go of some negativity.

Initially available exclusively at Walmart.

And, now its time for you to try to win a copy or three. The giveaway runs through 1/11/15 at 11:59pm EST. It is open residents who are 18+ from US and Canada, except Quebec and anywhere else where it is prohibited.
