  1. My rescue is an American Eskimo named Kia. She was being abused by the family who had her and was scared of doors, brooms, and men. Now she sleeps with her head on my shoulder. She's now 8 years old. We saw the man kicking her and he willingly let us take her after we asked.

  2. My rescue is from our local shelter-she was brought over from the pound as a stray so they didn't know anything about her-she's a mix breed large dog and the most lovable dog you would want to meet.

  3. we have 4 dogs and our dog remington was a "rescue" we didn't get him from the shelter, but his owner didn't want the puppies and said he was taking them to the shelter or just gonna kill them so we took him when he was 3 weeks old :)

  7. We have 2 rescue dogs. We think they are pitbull/golden lab mixes & from the same litter as they were dumped together. They were around 3 months old when we got them, just before Christmas 2009. My son (who was 8 at the time & had asked Santa for a puppy) called them our "Christmas puppies" :)

  12. My little gal, Sarah, is a ten year old Pomeranian that was rescued from a puppy mill when she was just over five years old. She was nothing more than "breeding stock" to make money, and suffered tremendously at the hands of her abusers. Socializing her was a heart wrenching experience as I watched her struggle to adjust to a world that was completely foreign to her. I absolutely adore her, though, and I'm hoping that one day she'll forgot the horrors of her past.

  14. I have a rescue yorkie that just came to my house one night. I took him to the vet to see if he was microchipped, posted on FB, called all vets & newspapers, but no one claimed. He was about 10 years old in really bad shape. He had to have all his teeth removed, & he has medical problems, but he is happy. I have had about four years now.

  24. I have a 7 year old Jack Chi that I've had for 5 1/2 years. She had just had puppies, that were given away, and the owner was taking her to the pound since she was moving. She was and still is such a sweetheart of a dog. It was a bit weird at first since I had never had a dog but we got used to eachother quick and now I can't imagine life without her.

  26. We got a 3 month old Pitt girl. She was abandoned behind a grocery store. She has been a wonderful little lady. Very sweet. Loves everyone. Sometimes she doesn't want to stop giving kisses. We got her in Oct 2013, so she is just over a year old now. We also have two Miniature Pinschers and all three of them play together. The Pitt is very gentle with the little dogs.

  27. My pup Belle Ami ( beautiful friend ) was the only survivor from a litter of puppies. I think the others died from dehydration (neglect). A neighbor brought her over hoping to find a home for her. She's a year old now and very spoiled! :)

  29. I think our home is known for "if you don't want your animal drop it in our yard" house. Right now we have 3 dogs and 1 cat in our home. The latest ones that were dropped is a dog and cat. Since you want to know about the dog it is about 3 months old. Its name is Rowdy. We let our dog out one day and went back out to get him and there was a newborn puppy. It could barely walk, so how it got to our house is still unknown. We couldn't just let it starve it was playing with our dog and eating and drinking what we had out for him so we just took him in. Same thing happened with the cat too. He's about 3 months now and his name is Chester.
