Chicken Soup for the Soul: Christmas in Canada Review and Giveaway

I received this product for the purpose of this review. All opinions states are my own and may differ from yours.
Enter to win 1 of 3 copies of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Christmas in Canada. Ends 11/14.
I've reviewed a few Chicken Soup for the Soul books here in the past: Chicken Soup for the Soul: O Canada, The Wonders of Winter, Chicken Soup for the Soul: It's ChristmasChicken Soup for the Soul: Reader's Choice, and Chicken Soup for the Soul 20th Anniversary. Here's our next. The review of each is basically the same. You get 101 feel good stories about the subject at hand, this time Christmas in Canada. I'm not from Canada myself, but I've been there a few times. I enjoy reading stories about the people of Canada and how they approach problems differently than Americans. This book is no exception.

The Christmas in Canada title came out on October 14th. It is full of 10 sections of Santa Safe stories:
  1. The Spirit of Christmas
  2. Holiday Celebrations & Traditions
  3. Holiday Memories
  4. O Christmas Tree!
  5. The Santa Files
  6. A Winter Wonderland
  7. Taking Care of Each Other
  8. Angels in Our Midst
  9. The True Meaning of Christmas
  10. The Spirit of Giving
The book starts with your typical introduction, this time from co-author Janet Matthews. She explains that Santa Claus is a Canadian because the North Pole gets all those letters. Then on to the stories. The first thing I noticed with this book is the stories seem to be longer than usual. There are many stories sitting at a full four pages. Compared to a handful of other Chicken Soup for the Soul books I have, those tend to come in around 360 pages, so we're about 40-50 pages longer here.

The stories are all quick reads. Some are tearjerkers. Some are a joy. Most have some mention of all the white stuff outside. You can read about the Naughty Granny, Christmas Poop for the Soul, or The Barbie among the hundred odd stories. And, while Canadians might do things differently, you're reminded how similar we all are from reading the book. Overall, a fun, upbeat title to read, in lots of little bursts.

The publisher's book description is as such:
Christmas is a magical time of year! This collection of 101 festive holiday stories will warm your heart and spread holiday cheer with its tales of family, fun, and traditions from across Canada. A fantastic holiday gift and a great way to start the season!
From mummering and caroling, to winter lights festivals and crèche displays, to feasts and cookie-baking parties, Christmastime in Canada is full of fun and special traditions. You will delight in reading the 101 merry and heartwarming stories about family, goodwill, and holiday traditions across Canada’s provinces. Remember, all our stories are “Santa safe” so they can be enjoyed by the whole family.
And, now onto the giveaway. We're giving away three copies of the book to US and CA residents who are 18+ (void where prohibited). The giveaway runs through 11:59 pm EST on November 14th, 2014. Enter for your chance to win. Good luck.
