Best Gift Received as a Child

Best Gift Received as a Child
Yes, that's me in the picture when I was two years old. I couldn't find many older Christmas pictures. With the holidays coming up and an event coming up at Walmart, I was reminiscing of some of my early gifts that I remember. While I'm sure I liked things like bikes at the time, the favorite gift I remember most is my Erector set. For some reason, I don't recall having many Legos. But, I recall an Erector set I got one year for Christmas. It is a construction set where all the pieces are metal and you have to use a nut and bold to put the pieces together. I played with this for hours on end, and for years beyond that first Christmas.

I don't remember what year this was, but this was typical of our tree. We actually opened presents the night before instead of on Christmas morning after we were older. Then the parents got to sleep late while the kids got up and played with their new toys.

Walmart Chosen By Kids
Getting worried about what are the best toys to gift for the kids this holiday season? Be sure to stop by Walmart's annual Holiday Toyland events in select locations around the country. When you stop by, you learn what the most-wanted toys #chosenbykids are that fit within your budget. The kids even get hands-on experience with the season's hottest toys of the year. I will visiting the local Toyland event on November 8th. Check out the Holiday Toyland schedule to see if there is one near you.

Do you remember your favorite gift you received as a child? Feel free to join in and share your memories.

  1. Cute pic! For my, my most beloved toy was my Easy Bake oven ( back when they still looked like a REAL oven )...how I tortured my parents with the awful little cakes I baked and they pretended to like,
