Old Time Candy Decade Boxes Review

Of all the items I'm reviewing associated with the Swim, Sun, and Fun Giveaway, the box of retro candy I received from Old Time Candy was my favorite. As my dentist can tell you, I have a very sweet tooth. And receiving a four pound box of candy to try out was just heaven.
Old Time Candy Decade Boxes
Old Time Candy offers retro candy. If you are yearning for some of the candy you had as a child, more than likely you can find it here. They have things that I haven't seen in decades, and they have things that I've never seen. While they sell individual pieces of candy like 10 cents for a box of Chiclets, a great thing they offer is decade specific boxes of candy. And that is what I got to try.
The decade boxes come in two and four pound varieties. In the two pound box, there are at least 40 pieces of candy. With the four pound box, there are over 70. Above shows you what the four pound box for all decades looks like when it was first opened. They squeeze something in every inch of that box. You can also get boxes for the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. You'll remember when you first open the box as the smell triggers many memories.

Spread out, here's what everything in the box looks like. Yes, that really is a box of candy cigarettes in there. I haven't had those in so long. They still taste like chalk, but it was great eating them again. Many pieces didn't last long, while others were new to us and we got to try them out for the first time

We've given these out as gifts in the past but never tried them for ourselves. Assuming the person on the other end loves candy and isn't a diabetic, these are sure to be loved by all. That actually triggered an interesting idea for another box from them. A sugar free candy box, offering candy throughout the decades.

The biggest complaint I can offer about the box is most candy in the box is flying solo, only one piece of each type available. This isn't Noah's ark where you find everything in pairs. Once you eat that piece/bar of candy, it is gone until you order more.

We're more than happy with the Decade Box from Old Time Candy we got to sample. It brought back up some nostalgia long forgotten in most cases. Even my in-laws loved some of the oldest candies.

  1. Oh, this would be what I want to win! I mean it's candy! You can't beat that! And these remind me of my childhood (late 60s/early 70s).

  2. I prefer the dry heat of the west unless it's during the Santa Ana's. Those winds just completely dry me out until I'm like a raisin. The humid weather is preferable if there's a really good breeze and you have air conditioning in your office, home, and car. Otherwise, yuck!
