YourNovel.com Review

Have you ever wanted to be the star of your own personalized romance novel? This isn't a personal desire for myself, but is the perfect gift for a friend of mine who you can almost never find without a book in some form in her hands. I recently had the opportunity to try out the process thanks to being offered a review copy from YourNovel.com All this in relation to an upcoming giveaway with the M.O.O.N. group (giveaway link not live until 1/31).
YourNovel.com Customized Book Process Review
YourNovel.com offers just such an option. Imagine Mad Libs, but when you're done, you have a whole newly printed book in your hands. That's basically what YourNovel offers.

The whole ordering process is actually quite simple. You start by picking which storyline you want. They offer about fifty to choose from, including themes of cruising Alaska, flying off to the tropics, or living the vampire life, among many others. After picking the storyline, you get to personalize it. That part involves the Mad Libs-style input, where you provide them with your name age, favorite radio station, type of car you drive, and local airport among many others. There are about 20-30 questions in total to answer. The end result is text similar to the following:

Sally was wearing a new purple outfit. She’d had her nails done and had put on a touch of au natural. She smiled at Harry, ran her fingers through her brown hair and said, "In our 7 years together, life's been incredible." She reached over and gently ran her fingers along his cheek and up to his brown hair. She caught a whiff of the scent she’d grown to associate with him, the clean smell of soap.
This is a romance novel though and one of the things you can personalize is the level of detail for the love scenes. They call it Wild or Mild, where mild is kissing and hugging while wild is more detailed scenes but not graphic.

Another day in paradise. YourNovel.com Book Review
I picked the Caribbean vacation for the storyline and gave the gift for a recent baby shower. To put it mildly, she loved it. Some people might find it awkward, reading a love scene where the names are your names. If you can get past that, you'll be sure to enjoy.
