Thomas and Friends 3-Movie Pack Review

Thomas and Friends: 3-Movie Pack
As if there weren't enough new Thomas & Friends videos, with the recent release and giveaway of Santa's Little Engine, and last month's King of the Railway review and Animals Aboard release, we have a new boxed set that was just released on October 15th. This one a 3-Movie Pack.

The 3-Movie Pack is a combo of previously released DVDs, offering them combined at a cheaper price than separately. Blue Mountain Mystery - The Movie came out last September and sells for $14.98. Day of the Diesels - The Movie is a September 2011 release, again at $14.98. The third, Misty Island Rescue - The Movie goes back another year to September 2010 and also costs $14.98.

If your child doesn't own the three movies, the $19.98 price is a great way to get all three for a much lower price than when sold separately. And would be a nice gift under the Christmas tree. With three discs, it would be a tight fit in the stocking.

As with anything else Thomas, my six-year old still loved watching all three of the DVDs. Each is just about an hour long, so it took him some time to get through all three. We did not do a marathon session here but spread watching out over several days instead.

Of the three stories, his favorite was Day of the Diesels. He enjoyed watching how Diesel 10 kept trying to manipulate the behavior of Percy. There wasn't anything wrong with the other story lines, but finding a mystery under the mountain and getting lost on an island were less appealing to him.

In addition to the main stories on each DVD, there are bonus features. All the music videos  are Karaoke Music Videos. There are seven in all. There is also a different game on each DVD, too.

Overall, I think my son may be wearing down from this Thomas fetish. Aimed at the 2-5 year olds, with all the recent Thomas releases, his head might explode if he sees any more. Of course, he'll still watch individual episodes on TV. This isn't to say the contents of the DVD are bad, its just been too much for him, as he doesn't watch many DVDs.
