Ozeri Ceramic Nonstick Frying Pan Review

I received this product for the purpose of this review. All opinions stated are my own and may differ from yours.
My wife has been complaining about our non-stick frying pan for quite some time and I couldn't resist picking this up for a review when it was offered. Our existing pan is Teflon and she's not happy with the fumes that supposedly come off it. The Green Earth Pan from Ozeri non-stick is provided via a natural ceramic coating. And that is the key feature of the Green Earth Pan.

With the Ozeri pan, just think green. You don't get a coating of PolyTetraFluoroEthylene (PTFE). You don't get any use of the pollutant PerFluoroOctanoic Acid (PFOA) or any other harmful chemicals during manufacturing. What you get is a seriously strong non-stick coating that is not made in the laboratory.

I like this thing. The handle is silicone and had no overheating issues with usage while making eggs. I tried to scratch the coating and had no luck. That's a good thing. It is that strong. And, while I used no oil with the eggs, supposedly you don't need as much when you cook with the pan since it's non-stick coating is that much better. Oh yeah, we don't have an induction stove top, either, but it works with that, too.

The pan comes in three sizes: 8, 10, and 12 inch versions. I got to try the 10 inch version. It is a decent size for making eggs or omelettes for a couple people. We do 3 grilled cheeses for dinner some times and that would require two cook times, unless we had the 12" size. My biggest complaint about the pan is the hex grid on the base of the pan. With your typical non-stick pan, the surface is smooth. With this pan, it is pitted. That can come across on the food cooked in it. Some people like grill marks on their food. I'm not so sure about hex-marks.

If you're in the market for a new non-stick frying pan, this one won't disappoint. Stay away from the $70 retail price if you can. You should be able to pick it up for half the price.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. This really sounds like a nice safe pan. I love that it comes in different sizes too. I like that it's not too expensive.

  3. Don't waste your money on these pans. they work for a few weeks, but after that you'll be using more and more oil to keep food from sticking. Eventually even the oil won't help. One of the worst kitchen utensils I ever bought.
