LEGOLAND / Sea Life / Madame Tussauds Discount Code

Home Depot Kids Workshop
For those who don't know, the first Saturday of every month, Home Depot does a kids workshop. Targeted at the 5-12 crowd, parents come with their children to build small projects with them. My son and I have built goal posts, cars, trucks, lawn mowers, and a few other items. Nothing too complicated, and a fun time for all who like to hammer and glue parts together for free.

For the June lawn mower project, the web site pointed out a special promotion going on. In addition to doing the hands on project, they would be giving out a coupon for a free child ticket with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket to several Merlin Entertains Group locations. If you're not familiar with Merlin, their most well down location in the US is LEGOLAND. I'm not sure if/when we're going down to Orlando, but if we can get a free ticket to the place, great. I made sure we did the project this month.

After putting together the lawn mower, and thankfully hammering the parts together correctly (unlike another family there), we approached the checkout area to get our completion pin. After getting the project pin, I inquired about the coupon. They had no clue what in the world I was talking about. They did mention another mom asked, too, but they had no coupons whatsoever and knew nothing of the deal. A little pissed, I went on about my business for the day. After returning home, I inquired on Twitter about the situation.

Their social team was very helpful to find some leftover certificates and mail me some. I only wanted a couple and they sent me ten. At first, I was thinking of doing a giveaway here for the extras. After carefully reading the certificate, I discovered you actually don't need the certificate if you purchase the tickets online.
Merlin Companies for Discount Certificate
So, for anyone heading to Sea Life, LEGOLAND, LEGOLAND Discovery Center, or Madame Tussauds in the states, you can get a FREE child ticket with the purchase of a full-price adult ticket. The savings here varies from like $20 for the Discovery Center to $81 at LEGOLAND. Just visit http://merlindeals.com/thehomedepot to buy your ticket online and use code 139910 at checkout. The paper coupon is valid until 12/31/13 so I'm assuming the code is, too.

Merlins and Home Depot also have a sweepstakes going on, Building Dreams Sweeps. They are giving away a trip for 4 to LEGOLAND California and a $100 Home Depot gift card. That runs until 7/31/13.
