Michael Bublé - To Be Loved Album Review

To Be Loved Album Cover
Michael Bublé is trying out his luck again with song writing in his sixth studio album To Be Loved. With 4 of the album's fourteen songs co-written by Bublé, including lead single It's a Beautiful Day, you get to hear the tones of his voice glide through not only his own songs but through various covers, too. You get a mixture of musical genres, from crooner tunes to contemporary pop-rock, with plenty in between, too. Not just a soloist, he partners with the likes of Reese Witherspoon, fellow Canadian Bryan Adams, among two groups Naturally 7 and The Puppini Sisters.

With no extra songs on the online album, you get the same fourteen songs from Amazon, iTunes, or wherever.

1. You Make Me Feel So Young
2. It's A Beautiful Day
3. To Love Somebody
4. Who's Lovin' You
5. Something Stupid (feat. Reese Witherspoon)
6. Come Dance With Me
7. Close Your Eyes
8. After All (feat. Bryan Adams)
9. Have I Told You Lately That I Love You (with Naturally 7)
10. To Be Loved
11. You've Got A Friend In Me
12. Nevertheless (I'm In Love With You) [feat. The Puppini Sisters]
13. I Got It Easy
14. Young At Heart

If you like Michael's prior albums, this one shouldn't disappoint. It has a jazzy feel with smooth covers of the Bee Gees, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, the Jackson 5 and MoTown to boot. It is his typical mix of laid back melodies, with an interesting duet with Witherspoon. "Do not think I take my success these last ten years for granted. I was anything but an overnight sensation, which inspires me to deliver big time for my fans—maybe even make some new ones this time out." says Bublé. "I labored over every song, every note and every arrangement because I can’t resist trying to make each record better than my last one." Listening to his It's A Beautiful Day, (video below) I just kept wondering when he would break into his 2009 single Haven't Met You Yet. They're that similar.
