DUB Garage Die-Cast Review and Giveaway

Enter to win a die-cast DUB Garage Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, 1:24 scale. ARV $23.99 ends 5/19
My six-year old son is into cars these days, the die-cast metal variety. He prefers Hot Wheels over Matchbox, which run in the 1:64 scale category, but has been eyeing some of the bigger cars and trucks. I noticed the vehicles available from DUB Garage online and inquired about reviewing their products. The folks at Toy State (their manufacturer) were kind enough to send one to me to review, another for a giveaway for you (below), and a third for a giveaway later in the month for the Decked Out Dad's Day with A Lucky Ladybug.
DUB Garage Vehicles
Of the three here, my son got to play with the Ford Explorer, at 1:32 scale. It is a quiet vehicle in the sense that it doesn't offer sound effects. The other two do and I knew my wife would go nuts with any audio track. The green Chevy Camaro for the giveaway here offers a custom sound track when you open the rear trunk. The Mustang Mach 1 is a Remote Control car that plays the Diamonds are Forever theme song.

DUB Garage Ford Explorer
My son loves his Explorer. The details here are amazingly like a real Ford Explorer. The doors open, the front hood opens, the rear hatch/door opens to show an awesome looking sound system. There is even a mobile phone on the passenger seat. The one thing the vehicle has that is not part of a real Explorer is an adjustable suspension.
Adjustable Explorer Suspension
This high-rise/low-ride adjustment puts the vehicle over the top for my son as "monster trucks" are his thing these days, too. You even have a second set of wheels if you want to swap them out. While my son loves the adjustable suspension, it is apt to be the first thing to break on the vehicle. I've already had to push things back into place with the frequent up and down of the suspension my son puts the vehicle through. He is a little below the recommended age for the truck, at 8+, but you would think any kid would put the suspension through its paces if it was adjustable. I don't get why there are two sets of wheels, but my son loves to swap those around, too. The second set will probably get lost though.

Overall, the Explorer is his newest favorite, even topping a couple of Hot Wheels-like cars he has with six wheels each. The truck has a very smooth ride, has a molded interior that is so realistic, offers no sound track, and can take lots of abuse. It sells for $17.99, where there is also a Dodge Challenger and Ford F-150 available at that price/style in that specific collection.

The giveaway vehicle here is for a die-cast Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. It is one of three convertibles available from DUB Garage offering 1:24 scale at $23.99 suggested retail price. The other two convertibles available in the collection are a Ford Mustang and a Chevy Corvette.

While we didn't get to play with the Camaro, the key difference with this vehicle over the Explorer is the sound system. Its real and you hear some music. You even have flashing lights here. If you don't mind hearing the music repeatedly, the sound system should add to the play value of the car. For me, my wife would have gone nuts with it, so quiet is better, even if it is a little smaller.

That giveaway runs from now until 5/19 @ 11:59 pm and is open to 18+ readers in the US-only.
DUB Garage 007 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Before listing the rafflecopter for that, let me point out more info on the 007 car that is part of the Decked Out Dad's Day event later in the month. It is a remote control Ford Mustang Mach 1 and retails for $54.99. It too plays some music. In this case the 007 theme to Diamonds are Forever. You'll recognize it immediately if you don't recall the theme. It should be a fun win for the Daddy who gets those prizes.

Now, here's the Rafflecopter for the giveaway. Again, it ends 5/19 at 11:59 pm and is open to 18+ readers in the US. Good luck.
